Why Music?
Montreat College provides musical training opportunities for all students, including participation in ensembles, elective courses, recitals, and concerts. The music minor builds on this foundation, blending professionalism and excellence in musicianship with academic development in core and major requirements. This minor introduces students to music theory and history basics and helps them achieve a non-professional level of performance competence through four semesters of applied vocal or instrumental instruction.
Montreat College’s music program blends professionalism and excellence in musicianship with the holistic development of the individual—mind, spirit, and body—through the general education requirements. At the core of our approach is a commitment to integrating faith and learning in all aspects of our program.
