Why Interdisciplinary Studies?
The interdisciplinary studies minor at Montreat College provides students with broad-based exposure to the liberal arts. It offers a flexible sequence of courses that enable students to meet unique educational objectives not covered by traditional degree programs. Through insights into the humanities, students gain a deeper understanding of the human condition and the connection between their major and other academic disciplines.
This minor complements a student’s major by offering a well-rounded exposure to multiple fields of study, enhancing critical thinking, and encouraging engagement with complex issues from a worldview perspective. It equips students to discern truth, engage others respectfully, and serve as agents of renewal and reconciliation.
